Able to run without a CPU fan in most designs, the DPX-114 embedded PC board boasts low-power operation of less than 10W. Targeted at the gaming industry, the board is based on Transmeta Crusoe CPU technology and the next generation of the company’s ConnectBus architecture--ConnectBus-II. In addition, a smaller power supply can be used with the board with less overall cooling requirements. The DPX-114 measures 7.7" x 5.8", making it suitable for small devices including portable and battery-powered equipment. The board can be configured for a range of performance, from 667 MHz with no video up 1 GHz with a graphics processor. With an ATI Technologies graphics card, the board can produce 3-D graphics with advanced capabilities such as support for dual independent displays, wide format displays, digital LCDs and plasma screens. For security, on-board hardware offers functions such as data encryption standard (DES) encryption/decryption, secure key storage and SHA (secure hash algorithm) for locking the software to the hardware platform.
