SBC Implements New ConnectBus Interface Standard

Reportedly the first product to implement the ConnectBus interface standard for field-replaceable embedded PCs (FREPs), the DPX-80 single-board computer (SBC) is powered by a Socket 7 Intel Pentium MMX/AMD-K6 /IDT-C6/Cyrix MII processor running at speeds up to 450 MHz. With the ConnectBus interface, embedded PCs can be replaced using just one connector.
The DPX-80 SBC also boasts of a PCI-accelerated Fast Ethernet controller, PCI 64-bit accelerated LCD/CRT graphics controller with digital LVDS/PanelLink interface, PCI Ultra DMA/33 EIDE controller (bootable with up to four devices supported), and expansion capabilities for PCI, ISA and PC/104 buses. Other features include DiskOnChip flash disk socket, 16-bit stereo sound system with amplified outputs, touch-screen controllers, and a host of ports. The 5V DPX-80 board measures just 10.7" x 10.0", is targeted for use in ATMs, information kiosks, and gaming and vending machines, and has a starting price of $650 each/100 (excludes CPU, RAM and SSD).
