SBC Sports Newest PowerPCs

June 1, 2001

Combining the latest PowerPC processors with the same features found in previous PPCx family single-board computers, the PPC6 features either a 755 or 7400 processor and SDRAM with error detection and correction. Data transfers to the processor are supported by a 64-bit, 66-MHz PCI bus, an L2 cache bus running at 200 MHz, and a 100 MHz memory bus that handles sustained data rates of over 400 MB/s and up to 800 MB/s peak.
The board provides front panel I/O with standard interfaces that include SCSI, keyboard, mouse, floppy, parallel, Ethernet and two serial channels. Memory options include up to 512 MB of SDRAM, 80 MB of flash, and 2 MB of L2 cache depending on the processor. Pricing starts at $4,900.
