S/D Converters Use Mini Transformer For Isolation

Capable of tracking input rates up to 600 rps with no added error, this series of transformer-isolated synchro-to-digital (S/D) converter modules convert synchro or resolver inputs of 11.8V or 90V, 400 Hz, or 90V, 50/60 Hz, into 10- to 16-bit parallel binary outputs representing angle with an accuracy up to 2 minutes of arc. No external transformers or components are required for 50 to 400 Hz operation. A velocity output with less than 1% linearity is standard. There is no accuracy degradation over the operating temperature ranges of 0°C to 70°C, -40°C to 85°C, or -55°C to 105°C, and a 5 and -15 vdc supply is required. The board-mountable, 1.12" x 2.12" x 0.4" converters provide synchronization to a computer, and the digital outputs are TTL/CMOS compatible and bidirectional input data is accepted.
