Touted as the industry's first quad-channel, CMOS-fabricated serial backplane IC with boundary scan for gigabit Ethernet and Fiber Channel applications, the S2004 provides users with enhanced board-level testing and simplified board design. The serial backplane device tests pin connectivity, scanning I/O signals with IEEE 1149.1 specification-compliant JTAG implementation. In addition to enhancing customer board-level test capabilities with integrated boundary scan, the device's TTL inputs, internally series terminated TLL outputs, and external LVPECL outputs also simplify board design and layout. The IC facilitates high-speed serial data transmission in a variety of applications, including Ethernet backbones and workstations.
