Shoebox-Size Industrial Chassis Can Hold Four Cards

March 1, 1999

This ruggedized, ultra-compact, 4-slot mini-node industrial chassis can be configured with either four ISA or four PCI 1/2 slot cards. Smaller than a shoebox and available with both ac and dc power inputs, MCH-314 chassis is particularly well-suited for use in mobile, medical and industrial applications. And the combination of 4-layer, 4-slot passive backplane, PCI and ISA bus, and two ports for both 9- and 25-pin I/O reserved ports are said to help make the chassis easy to upgrade and to adapt to specific applications. The chassis also comes equipped with a drive housing for 3.5" floppy or hard-disk drive, a built-in 100W ac input power supply (a 24V/48V dc input supply is optional), a filtered cooling fan, a keyboard connector, and more. And in addition to heavy-duty steel casing, MCH-314 comes with adjustable hold-down clamps to protect add-on cards against vibrations. The unit is FCC Class A and CE compliant and the ac power supply is UL/CSA/TUV approved.
