A new 4HP single-slot single board computer incorporates an Intel low-power mobile BGA Pentium III and targets applications with tight thermal budgets. The CSBC1100, a 6U CompactPCI unit, handles up to 768 MB of 100-MHz low-profile SDRAM with ECC support on its three memory sockets. On-board functions include a 64-bit AGP video controller (Intel 69030), USB, a 32-bit PMC controller, dual serial ports and a single parallel port. The processor has 256 KB of on-die L2 cache supported by the Intel 82440BX AGP set. The PCI Ultra DMA/33 IDE (33 MB/sec) and Ultra2 Wide SCSI (80 MB/sec) connectors, as well as dual 10/100 MB Ethernet controllers, are on the PCI Bus at Level 0. The board supports up to seven CompactPCI slots, while a front panel or optional 80-mm rear transition module makes input/output available. Other features include the Phoenix Technologies Award BIOS boot block flash, which supports diskless/keyboardless/videoless operation extensions, programmable CPU/memory wait states and system/video/SCSI BIOS shadowing.
