A new changeover slide switch has been designed for pc-board configuration applications. The 1K2 switch occupies a board space measuring 10 mm x 2.5 mm x 4.5 mm H excluding actuator. Pitch pins measuring 2.54 mm allow end-to-end or side-by-side stacking on a 2.54 mm pitch board. Straight or 90° versions are available. The switch is designed as a single-pole-single-throw version, with a choice of two heights of actuator, standard or raised. The raised actuator version makes the 1K2 suitable for through-panel operation. Contact material is gold-plated nickel, with a tropicalized version, including extra gold plating for operation in saline or damp conditions. Operating temperature ranges from –40°C to +85°C. With a contact power rating of 6W nominal power, the 1K2 is capable of switching 24V maximum. Contact resistance is less than 22 m? Lifetime of the switch at nominal rating is 1,000 operations or 10,000 mechanical operations. The 1K2 has a fully sealed base making it compatible with solvent cleaning.
