A smart card reader/writer, a magnetic-stripe reader and a touchpad with two mouse buttons are integrated into the G80-8109, a full-size keyboard that's suited for point-of-sale, credit-card processing, and access and inventory control applications.

A smart card reader/writer, a magnetic-stripe reader and a touchpad with two mouse buttons are integrated into the G80-8109, a full-size keyboard that's suited for point-of-sale, credit-card processing, and access and inventory control applications. The card reader/writer uses landing contacts to extend the life of smart cards. Both memory card and smart card protocols are supported.The firm offers several different chipsets for the keyboard, each designed to be compliant with a given application and to help drastically cut development time. The two-button touchpad eliminates the need for a standalone pointing device. Other features include an integrated barcode decoder and RS-232 port.
