SMD Electrolytic Capacitor Family Grows In Range, Voltage Levels

Feb. 23, 2007
Vishay Intertechnology's newest additions to its RoHS-compliant aluminum electrolytic capacitors extend both the capacitance range and voltage range available.

Additions to Vishay Intertechnology's 153 CRV series of RoHS-compliant aluminum electrolytic capacitors extend both the capacitance range and voltage range available. The new capacitors feature values from 0.47 µF to 1000 µF (up from 450 µF), with voltage ratings from 6.3 V to 100 V (up from 50 V). Minimum operating life ranges from 2000 to 3000 hrs. at 105°C, or 200,000 to 300,000 hrs. at 40°C. The capacitors' vertical surface-mount construction minimizes required board space. They come in eight case sizes ranging from 4.0 × 4.0 × 5.3 mm to 10 × 10 × 14 mm.

The 153 CRV devices are charge- and discharge-proof, and they withstand surge voltages up to 1.5 times their rated voltages and reverse voltages up to 1 V, all applied under IEC 60384-18 specifications. The capacitors are compatible with lead-free soldering processes. Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times of four to seven weeks for samples and 13 to 16 weeks for production quantities. Prices vary according to the type and quantity ordered. For more information, go to www.vishay.com.
