Thanks to the incorporation of common-cathode circuitry, the MTSM4030-RGB surface-mounted RGB LED allows for independent control over each color in the array. The three-chip package design uses InGaAlP technologyfor the red chip and GaN technology for the green and blue chips. In addition, the unit’s package design makes it suitable for automatic insertion and is wave and reflow solderable.The device is said to maintain superior brightness while operating at low currents. While being well-suited for multi-color backlighting applications where space is at a premium, the LED also can be used in light-pipe, full-color signboards, and indicator applications.
