Software Upgrade Automates Circuit Layout

May 1, 1999

A new integrated project environment allowing full bi-directional transfer between schematic capture, layout and linear simulator highlights the Version 2 upgrade of MMICAD Layout, an analysis and optimization program for both acitve and passive circuits. The upgraded software is well-suited to all types of circuits, from RF to microwave frequencies and from simple to complex circuits.Other upgrade features of the new version include streamlined schematic entry, introduction of a user-defined layout library of component footprints, templates to facilitate pc board and MMIC design, and full support for AutoCAD Version 14 DXF file conversion, as well as for HPGL, Gerber, Excellon, and GDS II Stream formats. The software takes full advantage of the capabilities of the Windows 95/NT 32-bit multitasking operating systems.
