Delivering some 30% more torque than a chopper (constant-current) drive given the same motor temperature rise, the Spectrum stepper motor drive is designed for bipolar, can-stack, and sub-fractional horsepower stepper motors. Performance is said to be improved over a wider speed range while producing just 10% of the EMI and RFI that a chopper drive generates. Performance improvements are the result of dynamic voltage regulation.Other features include an on-board or external step pulse clock, full-step/half-step control, on-board or external direction control and output enable/disable control. Output current is up to 1A/phase.
