Described as an easy-to-use, low-cost, cable-to-PCB termination system, the EZA board-mount connector exhibits the mechanical characteristics of a right angle SMA connector. The male connector is a uniquely designed clip that solders to any 0.141" semi rigid or conformable cable, using the cable’s center conductor as the SMA male contact. The cable snaps into the board-mounted connector, providing positive detent retention. Also comparable to an SMA component, the EZA operates at frequencies up to 10 GHz. Additionally, the cable design allows for easier manufacture of phase-matched cables. The cost per mated pair is reportedly less than traditional SMA products.
