Tact Switches Measure Just 1.9 mm High

Dec. 1, 2002

Measuring 4.6 mm x 2.8 mm and standing 1.9 mm off the printed circuit board, the KMR series NO SPST tact switches are touted as being the smallest in the industry. Positive tactile feedback is delivered via 0.2-mm to 0.3-mm travel metal domes and actuation forces of 1N, 2N, 3N, or 4N. With four terminals, the switches also include a ground terminal to ensure protection against EMI. Other features include a contact resistance of less than 100 m?, insulation resistance greater than 1 G?, and silver or gold contacts. Silver contacts are rated for 1 VA, 50 Vdc, and 50 mA maximum. Gold contact switches are rated at 0.2 VA, 50 Vdc, and 10 mA maximum. Price is under $0.20 each with lead times from six to eight weeks. ITT INDUSTRIES INC., Watertown, MA. (617) 926-6400.
