A series of precision thin-film surface-mount resistor networks and dividers is claimed as the industry’s first to feature a 4-mm by 4-mm dual flat no-lead package with a 0.65-mm pitch and low 1-mm profile. The new package format of the DFN series saves 53% on printed-circuit-board space compared to traditional 5-mm by 6-mm SOIC eight-lead packages. The devices offer precision ratio tolerances to ± 0.05% and stable film and performance characteristics of 500 ppm at +70°C for 2000 hours. The DFN resistor networks and dividers offer tight TCR tracking to ±3 ppm and ±5 ppm, respectively. These specifications make the devices suitable for unity-gain op-amp applications in industrial, telecommunication, military, and test and measurement instrumentation and equipment. The DFN resistor networks offer a resistance range from 100 O to 100 kO per element. The dividers feature a resistance range from 1 kO to 100 kO with ratios from 2:1 to 100:1. All devices offer power ratings of 50 mW at +70°C per resistor, very low noise of less than -30 dB, voltage coefficients of 0.1 ppm/V, and a temperature range of -55°C to +125 °C. Samples and production quantities of the DFN series are available now, with lead times of eight weeks for standard orders. Pricing, which varies with each custom application and depends on number of resistor elements, tolerance, and schematic, ranges from $2.00 to $12.00 each. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY INC., Malvern, PA.
