Thin Server With Dual SCSI Hard Drive Bays Aimed At Multi-Server Environments

Feb. 1, 2001

Offering a compact, 1U design that combines speed, reliability and flexibility, the ZA-101S thin server is well-suited for use in expanding multi-server environments, such as co-location, web-hosting and other graphic- and data flow-intensive applications. Said to be priced one-third less than comparable servers, the ZA-101S is optimized for server applications requiring high performance in a minimal amount of rack space. Its integrated ServerWorks 3.0LE (RCC) chipset motherboard supports up to two Pentium III processors running at speeds up to 1 GHz.
The board also has a 133 MHz front-side bus for increased throughput and supports up to 4,096 MB of SDRAM in four DIMM sockets. Dual Intel 82559 Fast Ethernet controllers on the board support 10BaseT and 100BaseTX Ethernet. Employing a ruggedized PCI bus architecture, the server includes a FDD/CD-ROM combo drive, two hot-swappable SCSI drive bays, a full-size 64-bit/66-MHz PCI expansion slot, and eight fans. An optional advanced remote server management module is available. Price of the ZA-101S starts at $1,495.
