This third-generation, 14-slot AdvancedTCA (ATCA) system is designed to meet all NEBS requirements and is ideally suited for use in telecomm and networking applications, including wireless IP, telephony and optical switches. In addressing thermal and shelf management and serviceability issues, the system employs: three independent, field-replaceable fan trays, each with dual cooling paths; and two integrated shelf manager/fan controllers to provide redundant, cost-effective thermal and system management capabilities on a single board. And the system’s backplane is available in a variety of topologies, including full mesh, dual star and dual dual star, to help it meet the requirements of next-generation pc boards, which typically operate at 3.125 GHz and above. Pricing for the 14-slot ATCA system begins at $4,850, with delivery ranging from 4 to 8 weeks. SCHROFF PRODUCTS, Warwick, RI. (888) 550-9543.
