Described as the industry’s highest-performance combo sample rate converter (SRC), the SRC4392 integrates a two-channel asynchronous SRC with a digital audio interface receiver and transmitter. The device specifies a 144-dB dynamic range, distortion figure of -140dB, and sampling rates to 216 kHz. On board is either a SPI or I2C interface that provides access to on-chip registers and data buffers. A lower-cost, pin-compatible device, the SRC4382, is also available. This device specifies a 128-dB dynamic range and a THD+N of -125 dB. Both devices operate from 1.8V core and a 3.3V digital I/O supplies. Offered in 48-lead TQFPs, prices for the SRC4392 and SRC4382 are $9.95 and $7.50 each/1,000, respectively. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
