Introduced as the industry's first 10-Gb/s tunable laser transmitter, the C92 module features wavelength tunability of up to 20 channels spaced at 50-Ghz intervals. Based on electroabsorptive modulated laser (EML) technology, the transmitter combines a tunable laser and an electroabsorptive modulator on a single silicon platform. It also includes a modulator driver, wavelength stabilizer, and photodetector. Other features include built-in spectral stabilization, an on-board microprocessor, and a programmable RS-232 software interface.
