USB Interfaces Claim First For Avionics

Claiming to be the first self-contained interface modules for linking avionics data buses to the USB, the BUSBox family of interfaces allow any computer with a USB or RS-232 port to communicate with a variety of avionics buses. These portable units need no internal PC-card slot and can be supplied with one or more protocols including MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429/575, ARINC 708 weather radar, ARINC 717 flight data recorders, as well as others.
Included CoPilot software promises an easy and intuitive environment for operating the module and includes an API for custom-application development. It provides data-bus monitoring, analysis, product testing, or system troubleshooting with a few clicks of the mouse. Other features of the module include a 100 MHz DSP core, large on-board memory, and flexible message-buffering schemes. Price starts at less than $3,000.
