VadaTech Goes After MicroTCA

Feb. 12, 2007
VadaTech pushes into MicroTCA with a variety of AMC modules, including the AMC602 storage module and the AMC340 dual-channel DVI/VGA AMC video processor board, which supports resolutions up to 2048 by 1536 pixels.

VadaTech has been supporting AdvancedTCA since its inception, and its push into MicroTCA with a host of AMC (Advanced Mezzanine Card) modules comes as no surprise. They will be providing a number of new power modules and fan controllers in the first quarter, along with an assortment of AMC cards. Here are a couple boards to give you a flavor of VadaTech's offerings.

The AMC602 (Fig. 1) storage module can handle a 2.5-in. SATA drive with capacities from 80 Gbytes to 120 Gbytes. It also supports a front panel Compact Flash slot capable of handling up to 4 Gbytes of memory. The system interface is an x4 PCI Express connection. Drivers for Linux, Windows and Solaris are available.

The AMC340 (Fig. 2) is a dual-channel DVI/VGA AMC video processor board. The channels are independent and driven by the 2D/3D ATI M22 Mobile Radeon chipset. The board holds up to 64 Mbytes of memory. It supports resolutions up to 2048 by 1536 pixels. It is a full height AMC board with an x4 PCI Express interface, and is also IPMI 2.0 compliant.
