Extending battery time in mobile video products and personal media players, the TSH122 video buffer specifies an operating current of 1.7 mA and draws a standby current of 4 nA typical, 500 nA maximum. The device is a single-channel CVBS buffer/filter with 6 dB of internal gain, optimized for dc or ac coupling to a 75-Ohm cable. Its input directly connects to a video DAC and, by including a sixth-order reconstruction filter for attenuation of DAC sampling aliases, the device forecasts cost and board-space savings. Other features include gain-setting resistors, a 2.2 mm x 2.4 mm SC70-6 (SOT323-6) package, differential gain of 0.5%, differential phase of 0.5 degrees, group delay of 10 ns, an attenuation at 27 MHz of better than –36 dB, and a gain flatness beyond 5.4 MHz. Price for the TSH122 is $0.50 each/1,000. STMICROELECTRONICS, Lexington, MA. (888) 787-3550.
