VME SBC Offers Symmetric Multi-Processing

Sept. 1, 1998

Offering the symmetric multi-processing (SMP) power of Sun Microsystems's Ultra 2 Model 2300 workstation, USP-2 VME64 single-board computer (SBC) is part of firm's family of high-performance SPARC engines for embedded computing. It combines two 250 to 350 MHz UltraSPARC-II µP modules with two SBus peripheral expansion slots and a high-speed VME64 interface to achieve 219 SPECint_rate95 performance (two 300 MHz processor modules). The card offers dual Ethernet and dual Fast/Wide SCSI interfaces and supports a Creator Graphics board for high-performance 3D graphics. Support for SunSoft's Solaris v2.6 and Wind Rivers VxWorks v5.3 speeds application development and deployment. Memory is expandable using memory mezzanine modules from 128 MB to 2 GB.
