VMEbus Digital Receiver Said To Reach New Performance Heights

Nov. 1, 2001

Setting what is said to be new performance levels for military and wireless applications, the Model 6235 VIM module, digital receiver melds on-board four wideband software-receiver channels, two 100 MHz, 12-bit A/D converters, DSP functions, and a configurable Virtex-II FPGA, all into a single VME slot. The board accepts two analog RF inputs at +4 dBm full scale into 50½ on front-panel SMA connectors. Each of the inputs is transformer coupled to the A/D converter operating at sampling rates up to 100 MHz.Either an XC2V1000 or XC2V3000 FPGA from Xilinx can be used, with densities of one or three million gates, respectively. When used with the Quad C6000 DSP boards, the receiver is supported by the company's ReadyFlow board-support libraries, which are compatible with Code Composer and Code Composer Studio from Texas Instruments. Prices start at $7,995. PENTEK INC., Upper Saddle River, NJ. (201) 818-5900.
