The MVME8100 is a high-performance VME/VXS single-board computer that is said to offer a significant performance and functionality increase for both commercial and rugged applications. It features the Freescale P5020 QorIQ processor supported by up to 8-Gbits of high-speed DDR3-1333-MHz ECC memory and 8 Gbytes of eMMC NAND Flash. The board also features 512 kbytes of non-volatile F-RAM. The MVME8100 is designed for a range of high-end industrial control applications such as semiconductor processing equipment and photo lithography, as well as military applications such as C4ISR, including radar/sonar. Fully rugged variants are available for extreme environments with extended shock, vibration, temperature and conduction cooling. Extended temperature variants feature a best-in-class operating temperature range of -4 ºC to +85ºC. Rugged models are capable of operating with up to 10 G vibration (15 to 2000 Hz) and can withstand an 11 ms shock of up to 40 G. Conformal coating is also available as an option. The MVME8100 offers extensive I/O including PCIe and SRIO fabric connectivity and multiple USB, serial and Ethernet ports. On-board expansion includes an optional mounting kit for a 2.5-in. SATA drive and two PMC/XMC sites. Supported operating systems include Linux, Wind River VxWorks, and Green Hills INTEGRITY.
