Targeting industrial applications, the 6U VPXtra 1000CD power supply provides up to 1000 W of regulated 12-V dc  power and 3.3 V dc auxiliary power with a typical efficiency of 90% (from a wide-range 28-V dc input). Behlman Electronics’ rugged, high-reliability switch-mode supply employs the company’s Xtra-Cooling technology, which is predicated on card-edge conduction cooling. The OpenVPX Vita 62-compliant device is designed to power OpenVPX modules. Features include overvoltage, short-circuit, and thermal protection with no minimum load requirement. The 12-V dc output can be paralleled for higher power and fail-safe redundancy. Beyond high-end industrial applications, the VPXtra 1000CD will find homes in mission-critical military airborne, shipboard, vehicle, and mobile apps. A different model, the VPXtra 1000CM power supply, offers five outputs up to 600 W.
