Introduced as the industry's first SiGe, single-chip OC-192 transceiver, the FOA6100 1.5W, 10 Gb/s serial transceiver performs parallel-to-serial and serial-to-parallel MUX and DEMUX functions. The device integrates a 622 Mb/s reference clock and operates from a single 3.3V supply. It also contains a clock multiplier unit with a PLL synthesizer and a 10 GHz VCO on the serializer side and a clock-data recovery PLL and a VCO on the deserializer side. Other features include low jitter, a CML transmitter serial-output interface, and a 16-bit receiver parallel-output interface that complies with OIF requirements. available as a bare die and as a BGA package, price in a BGA is $400 in quantities of 50,000.
