A variety of signal processing functions suited for 3G wireless base stations and other telecomm systems are performed by the GC2011A, a 100-MHz digital filter IC. The chip incorporates 32 filter cells that can yield up to 256 taps. Available signal processing functions include interpolation, decimation, complex-to-real and real-to-complex conversion modes. A single GC2011A IC can provide, for example, interpolation, root-raised-cosine filtering, and complex-to-real up-conversion for W-CDMA base station transmitters. The chip requires a 3.3V supply and dissipates 1W when clocked at 50 MHz.
