A flexible device for building subscriber line interfaces is presented by the RSLIC 18 family of extended-reach ringing SLICs. The devices are aimed at the fastest growing segments of the analog phone-line market, including wireless local loop, Pairgain, PBXs and ISDN modems. The devices integrate many of the external components required for SLICs as well as test capabilities, such as an integrated loopback feature and a test access switch. Their 100V capability delivers robust ringing to the end subscriber and pushes the limits of a "short" loop to 1500 meters and beyond. Five devices serve short and longer loop applications. All are manufactured using the company's Isolated Dielectric process.
