3GPP LTE Library Speeds Development Of Next-Gen Devices

Jan. 19, 2007
Based on Release 8 of the 3GPP standard, Agilent's 3GPP LTE Wireless Library works in conjunction with the company's Advanced Design System EDA software.

The 3GPP LTE Wireless Library from Agilent Technologies helps wireless-systems designers and verification engineers speed development of the evolving 3GPP Long-Term Evolution (LTE) designs for next-generation mobile communications products. The library, designed for use with the company's Advanced Design System (ADS) EDA software, is based on Release 8 of the 3GPP standard. It works within the ADS environment and with the Agilent Ptolemy simulator to streamline the design and verification process by providing preconfigured simulation setups with signal sources for downlink and uplink. It also includes transmitter analyses, such as spectrum, complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF), and waveform measurements (see the Figure).

Agilent ADS offers a complete set of front-to-back simulation and layout tools and instrument links for rf and microwave IC design in a single, integrated design flow. Agilent Ptolemy is a system-level simulation and design environment within ADS. It's based on a hybrid of data flow and timed synchronous technologies that facilitate analog/rf and digital signal processing co-design.
