Claiming an industry first with a controller-less design, the Unicorn ADSL modem chipset delivers 8 Mb/s performance with a power consumption of 0.7W in active mode. Power consumption is less than 2W within a complete modem, matching USB power requirements. The chipset consists of the digital ST70137 chip and either the ST70134A front-end for PCI configurations or the ST70136 for both PCI and USB.
