AFE Family Gains Speedy Sibling

One member of the X98000 family of analog front ends (AFEs), the X98027, operates at speeds up to 275 Msamples/s and claims to be the fastest AFE available today. Designed for high-resolution flat-panel monitors, LCD projectors, and high-definition televisions, the family includes four additional devices operating at speeds up to 240, 210, 170 and 140 Msamples/s. Each device has three independent eight-bit channels to capture red, green and blue or YpbPr video signals and are said to exhibit high linearity and matching. The X98027 supports QXGA resolution with a refresh rate up to 60 Hz while the X98024, X98021, X98017 and X98014 support WUXGA, UXGA, WSXGA, and SXGA resolutions, respectively. Other features of the X98027 include a clock jitter of 250 ps p-p at full speed, programmable input bandwidth from 100 MHz to 780 MHz, 1.4 Vp-p analog input range, eight-bit gain and 10-bit offset control, ac or dc coupling, and operation from a single 3.3V supply with internal 1.8 V regulation.
