The IP2000 family of Internet Processor chips are optimized for network connectivity applications, and are well suited for use in the device and bridge/gateway portions of the Internet infrastructure. The chips can be programmed, and reprogrammed, using pre-built software modules and configuration tools for a number of device-to-device and device-to-human communication applications.
Software modules that will be available for programming the processors include 10Base-T Ethernet, USB, UART, I2C, SPI, Parallel Slave physical interfaces, and a complete TCP/IP stack. The IP2022, the first device in the series, provides up to 100 MIPS of processing power and a communications-optimized. Offered in an 80-pin PQFP, price is $13.30 each/10,000. The ipModules, software modules, will be available from the company's web site.
