Network equipment vendors can reach the market faster by leveraging the company's new Smart Networks Platform, a broad communications processor platform offering a single open environment to develop a range of products for next-generation networks. The platform is designed to provide seamless integration among the company's communications processors. In addition to a common Communications Applications Programming Interface (API), the platform comprises a range of communications processors including the PowerPC family of host processors, the PowerQUICC family of integrated communications processors, and the C-Port family of network processors, communications applications libraries, and a communications development environment that includes tools and technologies from the company and its partners.
