A partnership between EZchip Technologies (a subsidiary of LanOptics Ltd.) and TeraChip Inc. combines high-speed network processing and switch fabrics to provide a highly integrated interoperable switching architecture. The solution combines the TeraChip 160-Gbit/s TCF16X10 switch fabric with the EZchip NP-2 10-Gbit/s network processor (with integrated traffic manager) to simplify the design of carrier-class switches and routers. The shared-memory switch fabric from TeraChip and the NP-2 combined packet processor and traffic manager from EZchip also provide advanced congestion management and quality-of-service mechanisms across the switch fabric, allowing the solution to meet system needs for triple-play voice, video, and data services. Samples of both chips are immediately available. A full ATCA-based reference system is available. Contact the respective companies for OEM pricing.
