DSL LIU Occupies Just One Chip

Resulting from what is touted as an innovative approach to chip design called CopperConnect, the CopperConnect line interface unit (LIU) is said to be the industry's first single-chip DSL LIU. Benefits of this new approach are reported as the ability to increase port densities by up to 50% and the manufacture of less expensive DSL line cards.
