Sporting a dual tuner in order to accommodate both the DVB-H and DVB-T Digital Video Broadcast standards, the STK-7078 MD hybrid chipset from DiBcom targets mobile TV reception in devices such as laptops, PDAs, and multimedia handsets. The chipset is fully NorDig II-compliant and exceeds the MBRAI specification. The STK-7078 MD is compatible with both Windows XP and Vista.
The chipset is available in the form of a USB 2.0 key. The system comprises a DiB7070-M and DiB7078-M (an integrated tri-band tuner and a "two-in-one" demodulator), which are combined with a USB 2.0 DiBcom bridge. By the second half of 2007, the company plans to make available a version with a PCI Express bridge.
For the first time, the Diversity Mode will be available for both DVB-H and DVB-T. This mode, with its dual antenna, enables optimal reception for both standards, either inside the home or in a mobile environment, including vehicles traveling at up to 130 km/hr (80 mph). This state-of-the-art technology also allows users to record one TV channel while watching another. For more information, go to www.dibcom.com.
