Stated as an industry first, the PMC-643 Fibre Channel PMC is user-configurable to operate in two-channel (dual independent) or single-channel (dual redundant) modes. The module supports Class 2 and 3 Fibre Channel and a variety of standards including SCSI, IP and virtual interface (VI). Other features include data-transfer rates up to 400 MB/s, a total throughput up to 2 Gb/s via the front panel or 1 Gb/s through the backplane, and connection to the host via a 64-bit/66-MHz PCI bus.
