Launched as the market's most highly integrated 1394b S800 physical layer (PHY) device, the FirePHY-800 supports 800-Mb/s data transfers between Apple Mac or Windows PCs and external storage devices. In addition to PC and storage applications, the device enables a range of other high-speed digital applications where guaranteed bandwidth and/or isochronous data delivery is critical. These include industrial automation and control networks, professional audio equipment, uncompressed video editing, industrial cameras, and high definition video surveillance equipment. The PHY includes three standards-compliant bilingual ports to ensure full compatibility with current 1394b devices as well as legacy 1394a peripherals. A unique mixed-signal SERDES design promises reliable signal integrity and data throughput, plus ESD/EMI performance. Available in a 64-pin, 8 mm x 8 mm QFN package, price for the FirePHY-800 is $3.50 each. SYMWAVE, San Diego, CA. (858) 450-2840.
