FM Audio Receiver Resides On Single Chip

Designed to provide audio reception capabilities in consumer products, such as wireless headsets, toys, local wide area voice pagers, and miniature FM receivers, the XE1218 includes on-chip a RF receiver section, a demodulator, and an audio amplifier that, wherever needed, can be fitted directly to an external earpiece. Based on a lowIF architecture, the system-on-a-chip also boasts of a LNA output that directly interfaces with the antenna, an on-chip channel filter and delay line-type demodulator. Presently, the XE1218 SoC is available in a naked die form, but will soon also come housed in packaged formats.
