The company has announced what it is calling the first 64-KB, UHF-band radio frequency identification (RFID) tag with high-capacity FRAM. The device packs sufficient memory capacity to store large volumes of aircraft part and maintenance history data, while supporting a number of different radio frequencies to enable worldwide traceability. Reportedly the highest available, it carries 64 KB of FRAM and complies with the EPC global Class 1 Generation 2 standard supporting a variety of radio frequencies. Operating over a bandwidth from 860 MHz to 960 MHz, the tag measures 50.8 mm x 25 mm x 6.22 mm and weighs 13.6g. Sales of the RFID tag are set to begin in the first quarter of this year.
