Front-End GPS Module Packs FBAR Pre-Filter With LNA

Hailed as the industry’s first GPS front-end module to integrate a film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) filter with a high-gain, low noise amplifier (LNA), the ALM-1912 comes in 2.9 mm x 2 mm x 1 mm MCOB package. The module specifies a 1.62-dB noise figure, 19.3-dB gain, and +1.5-dBm input third order intercept point (IIP3) and more than 50 dBc of out of band rejection at typical operating conditions of 2.7V and 6 mA. Other features include a shunt inductor at the RF-input pin, fully-matched at the RF input and RF output, a shutdown current of less than 1 mA, CMOS compatible shutdown pin, and a shunt inductor for ESD protection.
