The ATA5811 and ATA5812 RF remote control ASK/FSK transceivers report the industry's lowest current consumption rate and smallest size. In 7 mm x 7 mm QFN48 packages, current consumption in both devices is 10.5 mA in receive and in transmit mode at 3V. The ATA5811 operates from 433 to 435 MHz and 868 to 870 MHz and the ATA5812 operates from 314 to 316 MHz. Both transceivers are pin-compatible and exhibit a sensitivity of −116.5 dBm at 2.4 Kb/s in ASK mode and −109.5 dBm at 2.4 Kb/s in FSK mode. Other common features include a PAE of approximately 40% and an adjustable output power up to +10 dBm. Pricing starts at $3.90 each/10,000. ATMEL CORP., San Jose, CA. (408) 451-2855.
