A network digital video recorder (DVR) from Beijing Avinfo Technology uses the Blackfin processor from Analog Devices in a surveillance solution that enables audio and video recording, as well as remote viewing, recording and playback over a secure IP net

Weybridge, England:
The trend in security surveillance monitoring for commercial and residential settings is to go through Internet Protocol (IP) networks. Now a network digital video recorder (DVR) from Beijing Avinfo Technology uses the Blackfin processor from Analog Devices in a surveillance solution that enables audio and video recording, as well as remote viewing, recording and playback over a secure IP network.

China-based Avinfo, which provides networked multimedia-management solutions for remote monitoring and security surveillance, says it chose Blackfin for its blend of competitive price/performance, integrated peripherals, and ease of development. One particularly interesting claim made by Avinfo is that its network DVR can notify the police of intruders via the Internet.
