Described as the market's first complete system-on-chip for the mobile version of Japan’s Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial (ISDB-T) digital television standard, the NMI320 Sundance J mobile digital TV receiver integrates an RF tuner, demodulator, and all memory on a monolithic CMOS device. The chip provides up to 120 dB of variable gain, 50 dB of image rejection, and greater than 55 dB of adjacent channel selectivity. Consuming 70 mW of power, it specifies a 3-dB noise figure with a +20 dBm at IP3. When deploying the device, no further external memory, baluns or loop filters are required to create a complete system. The Sundance J NMI320 is available in sample quantities now, with volume production scheduled for the fourth quarter. Price is $8 each/10,000. NEWPORT MEDIA INC., Lake Forest, CA. (949) 340-6169.
