The ADL5385 quadrature modulator operates at frequencies from 50 MHz to 2.2 GHz, making it suitable for low IF and RF applications. Requiring just a single-ended, two-times local oscillator input, the device converts modulation information from the baseband to the final RF input. With a dynamic range of +10 dBm P1dB, single-ended output linearity is +24 dBm IP3 and the noise floor is -158 dBm/Hz. The chip specifies a -46 dBm carrier feed-through and -50 dBc sideband suppression at 140 MHz. Available next month in a 24-pin, 4 mm x 4 mm LFCSP, price is $4.98 each/1,000.
