Neutrality regulations that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is hell-bent on passing. With the incoming GOP-strong Congress, many believed that net neutrality didn’t have a chance making it as a law. But that won’t stop the FCC, which can independently make its own rules.
As this is being written, the FCC may announce a decision at its December 21, 2010 meeting. Get ready for some new rules and regulations that will let the FCC control the Internet. It seems wrong to enact rules that don’t really solve any problems and instead only complicate life for businesses that serve the Internet. The FCC has many other real problems to solve instead of making a grab for power over the Internet. Note to the FCC: Solve the spectrum shortage problem first, and leave the Internet alone.
