Octave Tuning VCO Suppresses 2nd Harmonic Beyond -12 dBc

VOC operates from 3000 to 6000 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0 - 24 Vdc, a typical phase noise of -103 dBc/Hz @ 100 kHz offset, and an average tuning sensitivity of 147 MHz/V.

A new RoHS compliant voltage-controlled oscillator, model V600ME45-LF from Z-Communications, operates from 3000 to 6000 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0 - 24 Vdc. Ideally suited for satellite communication applications, the octave tuning VCO features a typical phase noise of -103 dBc/Hz @ 100 kHz offset and an average tuning sensitivity of 147 MHz/V. The VCO is designed to deliver a typical output power of 6 dBm into a 50 Ω load while operating from a 12 Vdc supply and drawing only 24 mA. Operating over the industrial temperature range of -40 to 85ºC, the device suppresses the second harmonic to better than -12 dBc. The robust V600ME45-LF octave tuning VCO comes in the company's standard MINI-16-LOW package measuring 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.16 in., and it is available in tape and reel packaging for automated surface mount assembly.
