Rounding out the Extensus family of small form factor pluggable (SFP) optical transceivers, the PL-XPL-LC-L13 and PL-XPL-XC-E13 SFP transceivers create Gigabit Ethernet links with distances up to 40 km and 80 km, respectively. Also known as extended reach or 1000-BaseZX transceivers, both employ Sumitomo's 1,310 nm and 1,550 nm distributed feedback (DFB) lasers. They mechanically and electrically comply with the SFP specification and include a bail-latch mechanism that allows for dense spacing. Additionally, both transceivers incorporate the SFF-8472 digital diagnostics monitoring interface for optical transceivers, which allows users to view the performance of an installed network's physical layer to proactively monitor and manage ports and links.
